Gratiot Ave was originally constructed as a 20-foot concrete roadway from Eight Mile to 14 Mile roads

Major rehabilitation widens the three-lane boulevard

Major rehabilitation is done to widen lanes and overlay pavement

Roadway is resurfaced from 11 Mile to 14 Mile roads. Cost: $6.4 million

Gratiot Ave is micro-surfaced. Cost: $1.7 million

Roadway is resurfaced. Cost: $3.8 million

Preventive maintenance on cracks in the roadway takes place from Eight Mile to 14 Mile roads. Cost: $500K

Gratiot is resurfaced from Eight Mile to 14 Mile roads. Cost: $5.7 million

Major reconstruction begins to rebuild Gratiot Ave from 11 Mile to 14 Mile roads, removing original pavement, reconstructing with layers of gravel and dirt, resurfacing with asphalt, improving drainage, and making all ramps and sidewalks ADA compliant. Cost: $65 million

M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) is resurfaced between 14 Mile Road and Wellington Crescent in Macomb County, including resurfacing, concrete curb and gutter and drainage improvements, upgrades to sidewalks with American with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps, installation of new modernized traffic signals, sign replacements, and pavement markings. Cost: $24 million.
